Final Value Fee
The commission a marketplace such as eBay charges when an item sells, calculated as a percentage of the total amount of the sale plus a small per-order fee.
On eBay.com the final value fee for most categories is 13.6% on the first $7,500 of the sale and 2.35% above that, plus $0.30 per order of $10 or less and $0.40 above. The percentage is charged on the total amount of the sale, which includes the item price, handling, buyer-paid shipping and sales tax. Payment processing is included, so there is no separate processing fee.
Rates vary by category and Store subscription. A few categories, such as jewelry, handbags and bullion, use a cliff: the lower rate applies to the whole sale once the total passes a threshold.
